Wildly divergent, you say? How different would you say the history here is from what you've experienced?

For one, I don't recognize any of the last few presidents, according to them. Eisenhower should be in office right now, but it's currently a guy named Wheaton.

When did Eisenhower come into office? I don't remember a candidate by the name of Wheaton either.

Eisenhower was 1953 to '61. And that's my point; I don't think there ever was a candidate named Wheaton.

I don't have any money. What can I get her?

Since when has money been an issue? Wouldn't some sort of drawing work?

She's not even human, MOMO. I came here with two eyes and she never blinked when I lost one. You'd think anyone would react to that.

You lost your eye here? A-are you okay?

I lost my eye fifty years ago. They take everything from you here. They just gave me back my eye so I could blend in or something.

...Divergent? How so?

We're sometime in the 1950s, that much is pretty quick to find around here. There were two presidents in the '50s - Truman and Eisenhower. Instead, we've got some President Wheaton, and the rest of this history I'm still looking up.

...Hm. I've never even heard of an American politician by that name, but I must admit that American history is not my forte.

And you're still looking up other possible differences? I may have to make the time to pay a visit to the library myself.

I hadn't either. I'm pretty sure he wasn't in the running for either election.

This place arbitrarily decided I should be a history teacher. I'm going to see if there's anything in there we can use.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of off. I'm glad to hear it confirmed by someone a little closer to the "current" time.

Sixty years off isn't close enough for my liking, but I guess it'll have to do.

Sixty years is a lot closer than six hundred, sir.

When you're my age, sixty years feels like six hundred.
