I am continually astounded and horrified by the number of people who seem to think that bringing a child to a (often late-night) R-rated movie is a good and acceptable practice.
I don't get it. I really don't. I would be mortified to even set foot into an R-rated movie with tLD even if she spent the entire time sound asleep. It's rude to the other patrons. God forbid that she be awake and talking during any movie -- even one that was age appropriate. We'd leave because...well, because that's what you do when you're a parent and you have a child who is disturbing others. You take the child away from the other people, and you explain to said child why her behavior is inappropriate. It's not rocket science.
You said it. Though, I'm not above fetching an attendent to remove the offending parent and child. Same goes for people who don't recognize that really, we actually ARE talking about them when the little "Silence your Cell Phone" message (which actually was in about five different languages, in the Regal Cinemas anyway, last time I checked) comes on.
