"is it REALLY this far from Bala Cynwyd to UPenn's main campus, REALLY?"

I can vouch for the fact that it IS. What were you doing over that way?

It totally IS. This was back when my sister lived in Bala Cynwyd but worked on the UPenn campus and I was visiting her.

BUSES. I HATES THEM.

It is! It's like, MILES. BUT. If you're coming from Upper Darby (i.e. Delco burbs) on Market and time the lights JUST RIGHT it can take 15 mins :D

/trivia I still know though I haven't lived there since 1994

IF YOU GO BY BUS IT APPARENTLY TAKES 3 YEARS. Hee.

Nice summer dresses!

I hate buses too!!

My, that is quite a pull. Well done. I went to three different comic book stores and didn't even get that many. Well, I guess I could have if I had wanted more, but there weren't a lot I was interested in.

the group on the right are from past FCBDs(they still had them; why not?)
Hey, what the hell is that Daredevil comic?? I don't remember a DD FCBD!

Ex Machina and Transmetropolitan are both great!!

Thanks!

BUSES. THEY R EVIL.

Yeah, I had two factors working for me: 1) My store is small and the owner knows me; and 2) THANKS TO THE BUS I didn't get there until less than 2 hrs before they closed, so they were all about getting rid of the stock by that point. Heh.

I'll check and see if the DD one actually *says* FCBD on it, but that's what the guy said - from another year. Maybe it wasn't last year? They had some older stuff.

Yay! Looking forward to reading them.

My local comic shop would only let me take four comics. It made me wish I were back home :(

Aw. :( Well at least you got a few! Which did you pick up? Oh, and I have 2 copies of the "Fractured Fables" one by accident, if you'd like one. :)

the buses around here are always full of wackos and rude people and bus drivers have lied to me about where stuff was too, one of them told me the wrong TOWN a place was in, not just the wrong street or something.

Well now I don't feel quite so bad, like, "WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME? DOES EVERYONE ELSE JUST KNOW NOT TO LISTEN TO THEM??"

A different TOWN. Whoa.

When Meridel went to Bryn Mawr, we learned that it was part of a co-op group with Swarthmore, Haverford, and the U of Penn. She took a number of courses at Haverford, just a short van ride down the road. But it struck me that to make it worth taking courses at Penn, you'd need to be able to schedule two or three on the same day. The trip down there and back would easily kill half a day.

Yeah, another reason I hate buses - with the routes, it takes half a day to get anywhere.
