It's interesting that even though you're someone who is very interested in reading women authors there are only a couple on the list. Maybe you should write the next great American novel (you have my blessing as long as you don't go insane).
I don't think you should remedy it, men are definitely better writers. I've read 'Herland' a couple times, not exactly great but a nice read. Did you read 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' by Zora Neale Hurston? I also read a Virginia Wolff book in AP English whose title escapes me, something about a lighthouse.
