Made me want to track down a copy of the original Hong Kong film, Mou Gaan Dou, or "Internal Affairs" (2002). Maybe you've seen it?

I must have, because I knew the story as I watched it. Seen so many damn movies they've all run together.
Still, it was a good movie, we enjoyed it lots.
