a fetus is but a pest

right now i am drinking alcohol for the first time since i tested. if i had my way, i would be completely wasted all the time until i had a miscarriage. then i would cheer and cry in happiness for days and months. but i don't think things like this happen. like when you're hoping for your period, you're less likely to actually get it because of ( Read more... )

my (med school) anatomy professor called fetuses parasites, which became very funny when he spawned his own little "parasite" later in the school year. heard the term used again on House, MD last night, and thought of it immediately when reading this entry.

good point. heh. actually, in the book cunt, she explains how she had a self-induced abortion...using massage, herbs and the power of her mind. so, that could work for you too.

Its your decision no matter how many people support you or dont support you, but seeing that you are in fact an intelligent person (it shows through your writing) I think you should also be mature about it too. You made a few stupid mistakes and you obviously don't think abortion is murder, just a womans right. Even though I think babies are blessings...its hard to see how yours is considering the fact of how the child was conceived. I guess you'll never know if it truely was a blessing or not. I am also one to think about where my feelings come from and why I think the way I do. I've thuroughly thought about abortions and I'm proud to be anti-abortion for many reasons. It doesn't make me wrong to feel the way I do. How about showing some support for women like me who are against it too. It seems like you're acting the same way other unintelligent anti-abortionist act. Laughing at someone with a bumper sticking on their car saying how they apose abortion. Honestly whats wrong with them feeling that way?

I had so much "respect" for you up until you said this. I was actually going to comment to you and praise you instead of calling YOU another unintelligent abortionist.

You two both confuse the hell out of me... her calling the OP an anti-abortionist and you calling her an abortionist.. both of you are backwards and confused as hell heh.

i am not 'pro-abortion' but i am 'pro-choice.' that is where the difference lies between someone who scoffs and pro-life bumper stickers (such as 'as a former fetus, i oppose abortion') and someone who scoffs at pro-choice stickers (such as 'just say no to sex with pro-lifers'). i am not asking for a defined end result, but for the individual's freedom to choose the end result that is most benificial to them.

i am not asking for limits, but quite the opposite.

and that is where the difference lies.

Nah, I wouldn't go with pest. I think this is more accurate :

par·a·site (pr-st)
n.
An organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host.

I think pest is a little mild, considering the things a fetus can do (ooooh, yay for LOSING WEIGHT because of morning sickness! That's a little more detrimental than your average pest).

Just wanted to stop by and say that I really like your writing, I find your journal interesting, and what other people have said: kudos for doing what you believe.
