Okay, you know what? You know what? I've been debating doing this for a while, and I finally give in. Please, feel free to add things. Please. Sources are nice, too.
And hey, if anyone knows when they switched from the van to the bus, that would be pretty cool.
Also, a note which I feel is pertinent: I DON'T CARE IF THIS IS CREEPY. I AM A PERFECTIONIST. I WANT TO GET THINGS RIGHT, GODDAMNIT.
The Ever-Being-Added-To Brendon Urie Trufax List
Personal
- Born 12 April, 1987.
- Diagnosed with ADHD at 12, stopped taking the medication "as soon as [he] could"
- Favorite dinosaur is the euoplocephalus!
- Used to go to the Discovery Museum in Las Vegas all the time as a kid. (And yes, I did research this museum just so I could write a segment on it. I'm not creepy, I'm just detail-oriented.)
- Was Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat for Halloween when he was 11. Apparently at least was in costume for all of his Halloweens at home; it's unclear if he went trick-or-treating all of those years, but I wouldn't be surprised. Doesn't it just seem like Brendon would go trick-or-treating even when he was 17?
- Got busted smoking pot with the jazz band freshman year. His mom got mad, his dad thought it was funny, and his sister made him a sandwich.
-----> ETA: Apparently got "kicked out" of school. I suspect that this means he got suspended for a couple of days, not actually kicked out, but who knows?
- May or may not have smoked pot for the first time in 7th grade and gotten drunk for the first time in 9th grade. He himself says that he was more rebellious than most of his siblings.
- At 14, got taken by his Boyscout Troop to go "bunny bopping" - shooting diseased bunnies in the field with rifles. Wounded a rabbit, heard it cry, and asked someone else to put it out of its misery because he couldn't stand it. Apparently traumatized. (Can you blame him?)
- Age 15, decided he wasn't big on religion.
- Used to sneak out to see punk shows.
- Kind of a loser in high school. According to him, until he met Ryan, Spencer and Brent, only had acquaintances at school, not real friends. Got a reputation for being a stoner, although it's unclear if he continued smoking pot after he got busted. Too enthusiastic, bullied in 9th and 10th grade.
- Apparently was given a concussion in gym class by Danny Skolari (sp?)
-----> ETA: Says this is his worst high school memory.
- Was a land surveyor and worked at Smoothie Hut.
- Almost failed senior year because he was focusing so much on the band.
- Is currently roommates with Shane Valdes, photographer and videographer. They have a dog.
- Sang Aladdin with Jon Walker the first time they met!
- Has a couple tattoos on his arm - piano keys (older) and three flowers (purple, orange, turquoise - very, very recent) which apparently symbolise his band, because Brendon is more in love with his band than anyone else in the whole world. *coughs* I mean...
- According to
this video, Brendon was a virgin during... one of their tours that went through Vancouver. (Probably around 2006.) Apparently, he is "not anymoooore," according to Ryan. Also according to Ryan in another interview which I can't find right at this moment, he lost his virginity to Lying, which begs the question of just how Ryan knows so much about Brendon's sex life. Note: As much fun as this is to think about, we do have to think about how much bullshit these guys give during interviews...
-----> ETA: You know what, just

jaden_reads's comment, and follow the links. I can't even describe it.
Relationships
- Dated Audrey Kitching (time?). Fallout from breakup.
- Maybe kind of dated Brittany, a friend from high school.
- Sort of dated Lana Jade, then broke up with her, leading her to post that now-infamous letter.
- According to the band, is single. According to anonymous comments left on my LJ, is dating someone. According to others, is dating Shane. (Or his band, but that might just be wishful thinking.)
Family
- Mother is a piano tutor, father is a land surveyor (and a Beatles fan)
- Parents very deeply religious
- Youngest of five, supposedly.
-----> In liner notes, thanked the "Urie-Sanft-Allred-Tucker fam". Siblings Kyla Urie (graduated BYU-ID '07), Kara Sanft (BYU Hawaii '97 or '98) - uncertainty about others. Related somehow to Mason Allred (BYU Hawaii '07).
-----> ETA: Other reports say that he has three older brothers and one sister. One brother is two years older than him.
And you know what? Maybe it doesn't matter. These dudes deserve their privacy. Also, I'm sick of editing and re-editing.
- Kicked out of house at some point during/after senior year
- At 21 years old, has a nephew who loves dinosaurs.
- After the album started doing well, reconnected with his family
Music
- Took up trumpet at 11, got bored and stopped
- Freshman year, in the school jazz band. (Possibly after, too?) Played drums. (I don't know if that was all.)
- 2002, enrolled in guitar class where he met Brent.
- Plays organ, piano, guitar, bass, cello, accordion, keyboard, and drums. (Source needed.)
- Was in a bunch of school bands, marching among them.
-----> ETA: He played on the drumline in the marching band, and walked out in eleventh grade because the teacher was apparently a dick. That was about the time where he started hanging out with Brent Wilson, the new kid in his guitar class...
- Started out as the guitarist for Panic, but became the singer when it was decided that his voice was better than Ryan's.
- Is apparently the only one in his band who can play music by ear.
Panic at the Disco
- He, Ryan and Spencer met in 2004. I'm pretty sure, at least.
-----> ETA: April 2004. (He was in eleventh grade.) And apparently Brendon is a pretty good beatboxer, according to the lovely Ryan Ross.
-----> Also ETA: So basically, Brent transferred to Palo Verde around the same time that Brendon walked out of marching band. They were in guitar class together, became friends, and... poof! History. And Gollum imitations.
- Got signed after Ryan sent a couple PureVolume links to Pete Wentz and PWentz came down to visit them. Spencer and Brent weren't there.
- Went up to LA a couple times, leading to the famous man stew hot tubs.
-----> According to Ryan's LJ, by spring 2005 they ended up in LA "every weekend" or so, although I'm going to assume general slight exaggeration. (Besides, wouldn't that be expensive?) According to Brendon's LJ, they attended at least one concert in California.
- Immediately after senior year, went to Maryland to record A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, which was released in September 2005.
-----> 13 June 05, started on a 6-day roadtrip to MD.
- Went on... a couple tours. I probably need more information about this. I know one of them was the Nintendo Fusion Tour.
- Met Jon Walker while on tour with TAI. Originally third-billed, but moved to be right before TAI when Panic started gaining in popularity.
- Used to dare each other to pull of crazy stunts onstage. Probably stopped sometime in 2006 or so.
- Did song on Nightmare Before Christmas redux thing (released October 2006)
- Brent gone in May 2006. Sued them a couple months later
- Jon Walker went to Europe with them as "temporary' bassist; became permanent in July
- Reading Festival 2006, Brendon got hit with a bottle. This has since become their only association with England. (Okay, okay, that last is a bit of an extrapolation. Whatever, it's all anyone talks about when they're asked about England.)
- Have released a lot of really bizarre, yet entertaining, music videos.
- Lalala, more touring.
- Cabin! In 2007 (late Jan., early Feb.) went to a cabin (eta: in Nevada, apparently, and it really wasn't so much a cabin as a huge-ass house in the middle of the mountains) to write their second album. Ended up scrapping the songs they wrote because it sounded too much like a movie soundtrack/was too fairy-tale-esque/didn't have enough group collaboration/etc., choose your own excuse. Or, if you believe the fanon reports, they didn't actually manage to write anything because they were just having sex all the time.
- Came back from the cabin and wrote Pretty. Odd., released on 25 March 2008, although leaked before then.
