Sounds about right, but I think you can take yourself out of existence. Physically it’s a bit difficult, but mentally you die than disconnect from others. Is that not removing yourself from our known existence?
When you mentally disconnect, your body stops asking your brain permission, and pretty soon you're living in every healthy monkey way imaginable. The only way you can "disconnect" is to hold onto that wish with an iron will -- which is kind of like holding your breath as long as possible, except you throw youself in front of a train instead of suffocating. Dumb. And if you let go for even a second, you have to start all over again. That's why only those who are most determined to die ever really get around to it before their time. For instance...

Your brain still controls your action and technically works the same as you said (the monkey reference), but your brain works on the premise of the here and now, for thought and reference are lost. There is no comprehension to any action, but simply the action itself. People do this, as I believe and have perceived, when they face a challenge that their “normal” thought process prevents them from doing what seems to be necessary. The brain in my opinion tells the body the actions to perform and the body complies as the conscience self is “asleep” sort of speak and will not interfere with the actions that have been instructed
