I like the closeupedness of these pics. Is that a word? Anyway, it shows all the features of the skin and the stitching which is neat.

"closeupdness" -- I'm pretty sure that's a word I use in my day-to-day conversations. :)

Anyway, thanks for the compliment!

Always showing off the astonishing impact of a BSU education, Brandon :)

I always enjoy your self-portraits Joy. They're so neat; detached and practically emotionless, one would hardly guess the model and the photographer are one in the same.

I really like your use of light. What was all the technical number photo stuff about these?

Thanks! I shot them with a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT at ISO 1600. The top photos was at f4.5, 1/6 sec and the bottom at F5.0, 1/8 sec. (Is that what you were asking for?)

yeah all that nerdy stuff. ISO 1600 is a film, right?

And did you just have to memorize all those numbers in photo class, or do you keep a photography journal with all the numbers, etc?

ISO ratings are originally a film convention, yes ... but equivalent ratings are also used in the digital world. I shot these pics with a digital SLR, and all of the photo specs are actually recorded in the file along with the image. I can just open up the image on my computer and, using compatible software, recall all of that information. It's really great! I remember having to keep track of all of those things when shooting with film in college -- it was kind of a pain. :)
