i recall reading somewhere that verizon i think gets terrible reception at stanford? what other companies besides cingular are good at stanford? i'm looking at t mobile right now, it looks like it might be cheaper than cingular, but i'm not sure if i'll get good coverage, which would be completely useless

I had T-Mobile at first, but it was worse than Verizon. They kept saying they were going to be rewiring the network to share with Cingular, but they never did while I was with them. I don't know if they have now. All I know is they kept telling me, "It will work soon," "It should work now," "It's supposed to be working," and it never worked. So proceed at your own risk.

lol. trust me, it has NOTHING to do with drugs. i picked words randomly out of an astronomy textbook of all things, and then thought of synonyms, and that's what i came up with

I have a few friends with T-Mobile on campus.

They're always complaining about how bad their service is. Pretty much end of story.

In my experience, Verizon was fine as long as you weren't actually inside a building - but if you're inside, then you should be in class and not receiving phone calls, right? =O) It really depends on the building - basements were out of the question, but the upper floors were usually okay.

I don't have experience with other providers, but scuttlebutt says that Cingular gets better reception than Verizon.

Have you looked into the special Stanford deals that Cingular has for students? I can't imagine T-Mobile being much cheaper, if at all, after the deal.

oh, it is. tmobile is all around a better deal and a better service. I was so sad and my wallet was hurting bad when i had to switch. I used to pay $20 a month . . . :(

i was looking at cingular's family plan thing, since we need 2 lines. for that, t mobile ends up 2.50 cheaper a month, which isn't much at all, so just wondering if service is good enough to go for tmobile instead

I use an old AT&T family talk plan through Stanford. I guess the deals now aren't so good.
