Squall's most favourite haunt was the training grounds, so it was little surprise he was heading there too. Unlike most of the others on the Sub, he never slacked on training, even if the latest mission had passed without event. It just meant the next one was likely to be much, much harder than normal.

But today, his usual routine was disrupted: someone was sat outside the training area. Even with her face buried in her hands, he recognised her as Jenny. Squall paused, lingering by the door. Was she crying? He was curious as to what could upset the likes of her, supposed tough girl, yet he partly just wanted to leave her the hell alone before he had a sobbing mess on his hands.

He settled for a compromise, adopting his usual expression of indifference. "If you don't move, people will trip over you."

Jenny was slightly surprised by Squall's appearence- which, she really shouldn't have been, given that he spent most of his time training- but outwardly, she didn't show it, only taking to hugging her knees all the more tighter.

She sniffed, before wiping her eyes with the back of her hand and lifting her head up slightly. "They can walk round," she said stiffly, as if she wasn't the one sitting by a wall and most likely in the way, and as if she hadnn't been crying at all. "It's not like they'll turn up for a while..." the facade and her voice broke as she neared the end of the sentance, causing her to stiffle another outburst of fresh tears.

You're acting like a child, is what he wanted to say, but he knew it'd just make her worse. Still, she was amongst the oldest on the sub (physically, at least), and she was on the floor moping? It wasn't much of an example to the younger ones. But he didn't do cheering up, and no way was he even going to ask her what was wrong. Her problems were her own, not his.

"You can't stay there all day. Shade will make you move eventually."

She almost laughed with slight hysteria at that comment. "Him!" she said overdramtically, shaking her head a few times. He was the one who had made her like this, and right now... well, Shade wasn't in her good books. "I don't care what he says," she muttered, whilst partially hoping that he was listening. "I hate him."

That was a childish statement, and she knew it. It wouldn't change anything by saying it. Nothing at all. She would still help and stay here, since she had no choice, and since she now had that obligation. But she did feel better from saying it aloud, slightly.
