Ah yes, purpose. We all in theory have one in this world...and in life.

Actually the purpose here is fairly clear. Fight the evil, save the world, go home.

Welcome to the digital world. I hope you're ready to endure some chaos because the blue plate special around here is madness. It's like Alice in Wonderland but with more fighting.

Exactly the sort of thing I'm used to then. I should have guessed it was another of those 'save the world' things.

Care to go into any more detail on my predicament? Perhaps about this 'Lunamon' creature?

No problem I think I've gotten pretty good at this by now.

This is the digital world, a world comprised of data and inhabited by these lovely little monsters called Digimon. Like Lunamon the Digimon get linked up to tamers (Meaning you and me and others) and that emotional link gives us strength and power. It's a two way street and they draw from our emotions to become stronger so they can fight to protect us.

There are forces of darkness threatening this world however, seven demon lords not to mention a rouges gallery of evil Tamers and Digimon.

And so here we are, yanked from multiple universes, timelines, post death and more by the Digital god Yggdrasil to fight the good fight and do what we can to get by.

A world composed entirely of data? How intriguing.

Thankyou for a such a rich explanation. I'll be sure to go over it all very carefully.

I'm Artemis Fowl II. May I ask who you are?

These really are fascinating devices, I'm currently exparamenting with mine to see if it's possible for me to write new programming into them, I'm rather keen on resuming a game of Mahjong I left undone in my own universe.

May I inquire as to the previously mentioned item, "The C-cube?" and as to what it is?

If this world is entirely composed of data, then re-writing should be a possibility.

The C-Cube is one of my own inventions. A micro-TV, verbally controlled computer, mobile phone, diagnostic aid and many other things all comprised into one small little box that can fit in the palm of your hand. Completely wireless and capable hacking any computer.

I'm quite proud of it. If it were released to everyone back in my world it would reader all human technology obsolete.

I am just slow to experiment, these devices are paramount to our success and happiness in this world after all.

Fascinating! While such devices are not unheard of in my time and universe they are rather complex and pricey to obtain. I had to build one myself once but left out a few vital components to compensate for a lack of time available. The end result was quality for what it was worth but hardly as powerful.

True. Replacing but one digit could create extensive damage to the worlds structure.

Curious. What's your name?

Data hacking might be a little on the "forbidden side" as it was stopped by Yggdrasil, the central core system of this world months ago. Just out of notice.

I'm Optimus Primal, one of the residents in this world. A pleasure.

A shame. Though I suppose for everyone's safety the world's structure should be left.

Likewise.

Yes. Apparently we tamers capitalized on the malleability of the digital world a touch too much and the Command.dot.com known as Yggdrasil switched all of it off. It actually put a group of residents out of a home, forcing the residents of the Silver Dragon to renovate the third floor for them.

You'll find tamers from all walks of life on this world, some good, some bad.

Yggdrasil is some sort of god here, isn't he?

And some on the fence, I presume?
