.....after Sparky's announcement about that green Decepticon being allowed free run of the Ark, he showed up down here in medbay to have a tracker istalled. I don't know why, but I felt the need to warn Ratchet that the job needed to be done quick as possible and our "visitor" tossed back out into the halls

*With that, Wheeljack gently made the adjustments that sent Ratchet into stasis. Once he'd confirmed that the medic was unconscious, he glanced at Finch, shaking his head slightly.*
This kind of thing bothers a lot of 'bots, so you don't need to stay in here if you don't want to.

Repressing a sigh, Wheeljack changed out some of his usual tools for a set of miniature instruments, and began the delicate task of tracing the damage to see how extensive it was before he could even think of making repairs.*

*rubs the back of his head* Father said I didn't belong with the Decepticons. Said the Autobots were my "real family" or something like that. Something about how he couldn't erase the sins of the past, but he could try to atone. Or something like that. He was in a weird mood at the time.

Oh, great. What's up with that? Megatron lose too much at the roulette wheel or something?
*Wheeljack activated his comm, and patched a call through to Red Alert.*
[comm: Red Alert] Listen, Red. Scratch both me and Ratchet from this Las Vegas thing, ok? I'm right in the middle of trying to get him back up to speed and there's no way I can stop now. [/comm]
*After a quick glance at the monitors to make sure his patient was still stable, Wheeljack turned his attention back to the task at hand and continued the delicate work of tracing down the damage and repairing Ratchet's optical processor.*

Carefully teasing out the final bits of damaged circuitry, the engineer paused long enough to shake the cramps from his hands before picking up the first of the replacement parts. All during the removal process, Wheeljack had been sending orders to his maintenance drones for them to bring the necessary parts out of storage. Now that he was ready to start rebuilding, he had everything he needed at hand.
It won't be long now, old friend.
