Fuck what Caitlin thinks. So what if she's against your enlisting? You said it yourself, you've wanted this your ENTIRE life, John. If she truly loves you as your believe she does, then she'll let you do as you wish. If she's selfish enough to hold you back from your wishes, then you need to be a man and LET HER GO.

I'm speaking from fucking experience. I listened to someone dear to me who told me not to enlist (that was my dream), and I have regretted it every day of my life. If they accept you into the military, then you take that chance and succeed, do you understand? You'll never know unless you try. Caitlin should understand, but if she doesn't, then you need to either make her understand or move on. Don't sacrifice your future for love, at least not this early in life.

ya i know what you mean. I know Caitlin will stand by me on this. I know she will but i dont know if i am willing to put her through that. but if they give me the opportunity to become an apache pilot then ya im probably going to go

Whatever happens will happen. You know I wish you the best of love and happiness. I'm sure you'll do just fine, with or without Caitlin by your side. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. If you and Caitlin end, then even despite the pain something good will come from it. Either you both learned something or whatever. Who knows? I'm certain that it will all be fine, I have faith in that.
