I love the not-decimals, the way the whole thing progresses. And those last words, definitely the perfect kicker.

Their food comes. Sam spoons milkshake into his coffee to cream it and Dean gives him the pickle from his burger: traditions from when they were teenagers, held ever since for no particular reason. They don't talk much, and that's okay.
This killed me more than everything else for some reason.

What a fascinating idea though - what would have been different if Dean had never told Sam about the deal? Would Sam have ended up with Ruby at all? I guess he would've, and Ruby might even have found her task even easier without Dean around...
