Thanks to a Twitter alert from Drwhoonline I applied for and got a ticket for The Eleventh Hour Doctor Who Launch Party. Deciding that the company of geeks and Whovians is exactly how to cope with my grief at losing Ten, I packed my sonic screwdriver and headed to the party.

On Saturday I got to meet Gail  aka helygen in person for the first time and we met at Euston station before heading out to Hampstead to see The God's Weep. We talked so much we missed our train stop and had to double back! The play is a one hander by Willy Russell. If you've seen the film you'll know the story. The key difference is that any speech or description of the other characters is reported by Shirley. This makes it a storytelling piece.

Thursday I went to see MacBeth which is being played by Cheek By Jowl at the Barbican. I was looking forward to it a lot, it's a sell out and Cheek By Jowl have a great reputation. Sadly it was not good. In fact it was quite tedious. I've waited a couple of days to write about in case I was being unduly harsh and it softened in my memory.
