I thought of this a year ago, but never before.
I wonder whether, when Carl Barks introduced Donald's rich uncle with his Scottish family name, and soon made Scotland an integral part of the duck mythos, he was thinking that the name of the original hero himself - Donald - is a most typically Scottish one. Certainly neither Walt Disney nor Al Taliaferro seem to have had any related idea.
