Hey there kids. I am thinking of going to FPC in the fall as a freshmen. I've been accepted and given a hefty amount of money and it's on my top two and I am working on finalizing my decisions soon but I would like to hear about it from you guys. How is the Biology program? Anything to do in town? Any insight is appreciated. :)

there is nothing to do in town, don't think there even is a town. lol.

I just transferred out of fpc. The bio program is good. I took bio when I went there. I was not majoring in it so I am not the best to ask about it.

Whats the other school you are thinking about?

I honestly did not like FPC, was not for me. I got to know the wrong people. But if you want to talk, feel free to im me. FindinMySheep

good luck

University of Montana, they have the major I want which is Wildlife Biology. I've heard nothing but good things about them and there's plenty to do out there.
There is seriously nothing to do in that town? What does everyone do for fun then?

CAB (Campus Activities Board) plans some fun things to do. There are day trips to things. If you have a car you and can get around its not as bad if you are willing to drive places.
But thats the problem. There usually is nothing to do and without a car, most people are stuck on campus and...to be honest, that causes alot of drama out of boredom. If the university of montana has alot to do around it, i would say go there. But then again, i don't know where you are from and if its hard to go far away. If you get a chance, visit the schools. It might help

i am a history amjor and i think FPC rules. it has a good mass comm, criminal justice, and bio majors. but keri is right there isn't much to do around town unless you like the outdoors because FPC is in the middle of a forrest and on the side of a lake. if you have a car you can have more fun becasue Keene is 20minutes away and has movies, mall, a great downtown with excellent restraunts and shops.

Hey! Good luck to you. I'm not a biology major, so I can't really help you there.
BUT you have to ask yourself if you always wanted to go to a big city kind of place, because there is nothing to do here off campus. This is a small, isolated town. Nothing except a Wall mart and a KFC.
Keene (which is a half hour away) has cute stores, a few bars I think, and a movie theater. It's the closest movie theater by the way ( ... )

Ever since I've read your post I've been hearing more and more about the biology major. Apparently, we have a good biology department here.

hey. i just transferred out too. as far as i know the bio program is pretty good. they hired a new professor for last semester and the professors are generally good - the know their stuff.i don't think they really have anything toward wildlife bio but i'm not sure.

there's nothing to do in town really. there's a walmart. if you like drinking, then there are parties every weekend at the upper classman housing. drinking is big there. cab does plan some events. the state parks are cool and so are the woods around the campus.

the professors are good but there is a lot of drama among the students.

yes, thats the one thing i dislike about this school, is all the drama, I am a senior, if i didnt love my musi department, minus one professor, I would not be here currently. so if you like smaller classes, than this is the place for you. and beware the nasty winters, haha

All of these things I suggested are on the FPC Webpage, you need to link around though. It might take you a few pages to get to them, but the SGA/AOC has a page, Adventure Recreation, CAB, and Community Service all have pages filled with info ( ... )
