Grace is doing better. Probably going home on Sunday. Thanks for thoughts/prayers.

• Grace is receiving a steroid medication and then albuterol (10 minutes ever couple of hours).  She is on oxygen
• She is getting suction in her lungs several times a day (a tube is pushed down the throat and into the bronchial passage for her right lung (the one most affected) and suction is applied.

She did better last night and has been moved back to CCU.

The doctors have decided not to put Grace on the respirator tonight.

Grace has been moved to the ICU in case she gets too tired trying to breathe and they need to put her on a ventilator.  Her muscle-tone is so low and her lungs so clogged that this is a possibility.

My sister sez:

"Decreased breath sounds in lungs.  Doing X-Ray to check for collapse.  Yikes!"

She is having trouble breathing at the moment.  She has been moved to the CCU and is on two antibiotics.  I think they are still waiting on some tests for flu and RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus).

Currently in ER waiting for a bed in CCU.  Very bad pneumonia, cause presently unknown ( Read more... )
