Hopefully the last episode in the Colorado saga

I called the owner of the hostel in Colorado this morning, and I lucked out and got an answering machine. To give you all an idea of why I may have been feeling guilty about not going out there, even though it would sap at least $225 out of my monies, I have transcribed his return message to me.

He needs to suck it up and be a businessman. That is entirely unprofessional.

I'm glad your people were more professional, and wished you luck.

I've never had a potential employer handle things this way before. The only thing I've experienced that might be similar is when I call people and ask them for money, but then it's justifiable when they get irate.

So, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "over and over again" refering to two instances 1) when you told him "sorry" I got a better paying job, and 2 "sorry I'd loose money" (and If I know jane the sorry was emphisized)
And so nice of him to ignore the fact that you try to find some way to make up for number 2 and throwing a temper tantrum and attacking your caracter.

You might feel bad, but you are better off without him as a boss, he is a jerk off.

No, those were the only times, both with me apologizing like crazy. Oh, and the part that really got to me was him saying that he'd never want anyone that knew me to work for him. Sheesh. Temper tantrum is right.

Yeah, I was kind of dreading working for those three weeks anyway, because he would have been either rude or moping the entire time.

I was agreeing with that first part of your comment there, I just read mine again and the "no" was ment to say that you were right. Now I'm just confusing myself...

Anyway, you're right, and he's mean. :)

Um, WOW. Just have to chime in with everyone else. How unprofessional! People get different jobs and move on with little or no notice ALL the time, so if he has a business, he'll just have to get used to it. Don't feel too bad over this, Jane, you have to look out for your own best interests in situations like this.

Thank you! I was a bit surprised to find that he hadn't encountered anything like this before. Did people always just fall into his lap? Hm.
