My poor old acoustic guitar finally was taken in to be repaired. I've been so frustrated with it the last couple of years as the frets had become worn. So I was reading a post by oslo where he says he should go back to some philosophy as a break from novels. I thought, in light of some of my recent experiences, that no, he needn't worry about hurrying back to it any time soon. Novels are much better for passing, enjoying or wasting time.

I recently got this book from the library called $20 Dollar a Gallon. Chapter by chapter it described what kinds of things would happen to America's economy as gas became more and more expensive. Shoveling snow has become a new hobby of mine. At least it seems that way these last couple of weeks. About a foot fell a week before Christmas, then another one or two feet Christmas weekend with scattered dustings of snow in between.
