Mememeage from Genesse and kit_the_brave and norwegianblue47

1. Cats I have 2 currently, named Fizzgig and Isis, but I've had at least ONE in my house since I was born. I've had several characters in my life, several of whom I have blogged about here. :-)

2. D, now 21, is the COG's youngest daughter. There has been LOTS of OMBDRAMA on this stage, but she's glacially and painfully finally starting to pull her head out of the sand and take some responsibility. Several years ago she moved in with her friends, but when said friends got pregnant about 10 months ago and kicked her out of the house, she moved back in with us. She's actually talking about getting her GED and has made slight motions at finding a job. Occasionally she'll do housework. Hey, these are all VAST improvements from about 4 years ago.

3. A good piece of chocolate is a wonderful thing. Enough said.

4. Christian Bale (insert same answer as "good piece of chocolate")

5. Kansas Is still kind of home. It's where my mom and grandma live. It's where I went to HS and really started to figure out who I am. It's flat as hell, rather arid and depressing to most people, but a portion of my heart will always live out there on the Western Kansas plains. You've heard of Big Sky Country? Until you've been outside of town on a summer afternoon with the sun blazing overhead and the wind whipping the grasses into a frenzy of joy towards a vast, endless horizon, you have no idea.

1.) Stage managing Is my passion and my destruction. :-D I LOVE doing it, for some sick twisted reason. The organization, the harnessing of all those creative energies into one ultimate spectacle, the impending disaster waiting behind every line, every sound cue, every entrance. There is nothing more nerve wracking or more invigorating than live theatre and knowing that the entire show hangs on YOU.

2.) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 42. And don't forget your towel.

3.) Accidentally stepping on President Obama's shoes Bwahahahaha

4.) The time a thief couldn't manage to steal your car (cause that story is AWESOME!) Hee! So, I think I mentioned my 1985 ford tempo Methusulah earlier in one of these. Loved that car like woah. Anyway, as I think I mentioned, the drivers side door was, literally, falling off the hinges. In order to close it, you had to A) roll down the window B) lock the door C) reach through the window and grab the outer handle of the door D) lift the door up E) slam it shut. For me it was pretty simple, but I'd had the car forever. Seeing as how my car was such a piece of junk, I never bothered locking it, and one night when I was closing up at work in College I kept hearing this odd dull thudding sound coming from the parking lot. Being young, dumb and curious, I went out to investigate and saw a gentleman, sitting in the drivers seat of my car, repeatedly attempting to close the door. I, of course, being the helpful person I am, try to explain to him how to close the door to my car instead of banging it futilely in the night. He gives me a wide grin, says thank you. . . adn then it dawns on him that I might be the owner of the car he's apparently attempting to hijack and he bolts out of the car and down the street. By the time I stopped laughing he was LONG gone.

5.) The PNOG The PNOG (which stands for Partially Naked Old Guy) Was the COG's dad. For those who remember my stories about him, he was quite a character to say the least. I have so many great stories about him. . . a short and IMO pretty amusing one happened one morning when I came downstairs and apparently no one else was up/around. The kitchen was (until very recently!!) set up so that the kitchen table was essentially hidden from the doorway until you got all the way into the kitchen and turned to face it. On the morning in question I went in and immediately started doing dishes, and since the sink is directly opposite the table, I didn't even notice he was sitting there. After a few seconds I heard his gruff voice say "Oh Frankie. Can I have some water?" When I turned to get his cup, he was sitting at the kitchen table, buck naked, holding his yellow glass out to me. Sadly he passed away on 12-13-2005. We sent him to the here-after Egyptian style, with some candy (which he absolutely loved and would eat constantly hated), some cookies (which he only ate because they would go stale otherwise), his yellow glass for water, a bottle of anbesol (duplicates of which I still to day find stashed around the house in odd places) and various other important things.

1. Ice I am one of those sick and twisted people who actually ENJOYS winter for the most part. When I lived out on the plains it hardly ever snowed, so I enjoy it a great deal here in Chicago. Usually.

2. costumes I've done costuming since I got stuck on the costiume crew at The Big Cheesy Musical in the Ditch (Texas, he Musical Drama) in 1997. I can do a quick change pretty darn well and can fix almost anything with duct tape and safety pins. I enjoy dressing up in renaissance garb and do have a rather rockin' outfit if I do say so myself. I really enjoy researching historical clothing for costuming purposes (I know, I am a geek) and would LOVE to do more with it. Eventually I'll get my own sewing machine and start working again. I'm woefully out of practice. :-)

3. Hez Ah, my darling hfleming8 Hez was one of my first true Quill friends and the first who I met IRL. I reviewed her story Mourning morning and it was all down hill from there. :-D

4. The Man Hunt kdf;ahgjk;af;hadfjk; In the middle of July, 2005, there was a massive war going on between the Men of SQ and the women. This war, known as the Sugarquill Man Hunt was documented at sqmanhunt for posterity and as a warning to future generations. I ended up heading at least a portion of the women's faction from our base in Micronesia (in fact my SQ Icon is still testament to that time period) and directing our forces across several countries for several days before a truce was called when HBP was finally released.

Truthfully, it was a round robin style story that started on the Exploding Snap threads when someone started saying we needed a Men of SQ Calendar (to raise funds, of course) and the men were slightly resistant about getting their pictures taken for said calendar. If you get the chance, read through this great tale of espionage, love, betrayal and CRAX. Well worth it.

5. Midnight Musings Wow. I can't believe you remember this! One of the first fanfics I wrote, it's a series of one shots designed to look deeper into the psyche's of various characters. I am actually still quite proud of a few of those, even though many of them were completely killed by Cannon. :-D
