Over the weekend, Minneapolis/St Paul got more snow than it's had since Halloween 1991. Erik was out shoveling for hours on both Saturday and Sunday. The Metrodome at Mall of America Field collapsed. Yesterday Erik and Cecily and I were planning to participate in "Parents' Night Out," a church fundraiser in which teenagers would watch your kids for four hours in return for donations. It was pretty crazy having Vati (Cecily's Opa) visit right after Thanksgiving - he was avoiding the busy airports - but Erik and I had to go to work all week. We hardly got to do any fun touristy stuff while he was here. But he did a great job taking care of the baby, so she didn't go to childcare at all last week ( Read more... )

• I get to keep working at the ESL institute for the next session, which starts next week. Yay!
  
• The California DMV still thinks I need to renew my registration with them, even though my car has been registered in Minnesota since September. I got a delinquency notice from them today. Fail!

Yesterday, we had my Madison people (Mom, Bryan, Boris), Erik's mom and sister Kim, and her roommate Jenn, over for Thanksgiving dinner. There was a LOT of food and fun, but - it all seemed to happen with almost no effort by me. I guess this is how you delegate.
