From Sunday to today, I was experiencing tooth pain in my upper left molars. I was due for a cleaning anyway, so I made a dentist's appointment for today, in-between my two jobs. Since we have moved to Minneapolis, I have developed this problem with Fridays. Also, I finished with my grading and figured out a way to give feedback to the class efficiently and possibly even entertainingly: by putting their most common grammatical errors into a Powerpoint presentation for tomorrow.

Pros: Got a lot of chores/housework done (laundry, groceries, cleaned the kitchen to within an inch of its life) AND had a lot of fun (took Cecily to the Children's Museum on Saturday; sang in church choir on Sunday AND then went on a date with Erik, where we saw a different movie and ate at a different restaurant than planned, but still enjoyed ( Read more... )

Today was my first day back as a stay-at-home (more hours) mom. I taught at the high school, picked Cecily up after only three hours at the childcare provider's house, and stayed home with her for the rest of the day. It was nice and slow-paced, generally; I even got to take a nap in the afternoon when she did. Almost makes me want to leave ( Read more... )

In the last two days, Cecily has decided she doesn't want to be fed by an adult with a spoon anymore. Instead, she has to have lots of time and freedom to mush her food around with her hands, maybe even getting a small amount of it in her mouth (as opposed to her highchair, the floor, her clothing, and in her hair).
