Fuck it!

First the synagogues, and now the British Consulate and a British bank! I am furious. Turkey was a safe place to be for a long time, but I guess it is not so safe anymore. Fuck it! I have no doubt the next target will be a US embassy or a company etc. I simply do not understand what they are hoping to achieve with these attacks. It is so sick! ( Read more... )

it sucks...its hard..its hard to imagine that 6 months ago we were sitting in the restraunt across from the consulate...I hope that old guy who works there is ok...

Dont you think its rather convienent for bush that the british consulate gets attacked when he is in the UK to talk about support for the war against terrorism? something is going on...

I don't know what to think anymore. The whole thing just makes me sick! I am really worried that a third attack will be coming soon, and this time the target will be the US. And I hope it does not happen, but it is very hard, almost impossible to prevent suicide attacks. That's why I feel so helpless and I am sure most people in Istanbul feel the same way too.

I was thinking about the same thing regarding the restaurant. The consulate is very close to the hotel we stayed at and you know how busy it is out there. Damn it! These terrorists deserve every kind of punishment imaginable and more!

Shit..its so frikken scary and upsetting. I dont want to imagine how hard it will be for the business around the area to rebuild...including the hotels and restraunts....and all the people that died.

looking at the pic from the news websites..it looks like the restraunt was burned out :(

I hope not. :( This is horrible. I just stopped looking at the slideshow on Yahoo. I don't think I can look at those pics for a while. They make me so sad. :(

It is insane indeed. I am worried about another attack, this time on the US. I hope it never happens, but it is impossible to stop suicide attacks. You know the situation in Israel. *sigh*

On a completely unrelated note, you look really good with make-up in that icon. I like it a lot. :)

What puzzles me is, who is giving these orders? Normally I'd think it was the Americans (paranoid me...) but I don't think Americans bomb synagogues.

One thing is clear, though: mass murder is always political or economic. The sincerely religious have better things to do with their lives, regardless of faith.

Perhpas it could be the israeli government? I'm not against jews...just the Sharon regime...maybe the current israeli regime is trying to provoke anti-islamic vibes across the board? there have been a lot of stories running around that during the attacks on sept. 11th, a woman called the police because she saw a group of men who were cheering and taking pictures of the event. the police arrested them...turns out they were Israeli intelligence officers..they had fake passports and over 4,000 in cash. something strange is going on. if Israeli Intelligence knew what was goign to happen, why didnt they tell us?

That's really interesting, you know. I find it very hard to grasp. It doesn't seem plausible to me: killing your own people. But then again, you never know. Politics is a dirty arena, and some people would do anything to get what they want. It is a dangerous world. And it is getting more dangerous by the minute. :(

If "us" is the US, well, remember that most of the recent US "enemies", including al Qaeda, bin Laden, the Taleban and Saddam Hussein all used to take money directly from the US government. I'm obviously not saying the US itself deliberately bought the events of sept.11, but it certainly enabled them financially as well as provoking them politically. So ... it's impossible to guess who knew what, but it's quite likely that everyone in the security community knew more than they will ever admit. Of course, that's their job.

Hm, and we know that the Bush family's private agenda involves controlling the oil market and destabilising Europe, and while it's probably easy to over-estimate the power that the president has over the armed forces and the intelligence services, that shouldn't be forgotten either.

The present Israeli government are, I'd have to agree, as nuts as Mr. Mugabe in their own way, and Israel, like the US, is famous for its covert ops and disregard of, um, even the usual conventions of illegal international dealings, but ( ... )

*big sigh*

I hope there won't be any other attacks in the future. I really do. This has to stop!

*Sigh*, just when I thought I'd give up thinking the worst of people...

Seriously it scares me so much how people can forget their basic humanity for an ideology. I'm totally not against religion, just people who think they can ignore God.

I hope Turkey can get rid of these people soon.

I hope so too, Ibid. I hope so too. It is really sad. Right now I am feeling very sad. I am also worried about a third round of attacks, this time on US targets. It is very frustrating to see such a thing happening in my home country and I hope that there won't be any bigger attacks.

I feel for you. It reminds me of when I was growing up and there seemed to be an IRA bomb every day. It just isn't fair on ordinary Turks.

No, not fair at all. It is not fair on anybody actually. These attacks intimidate people. That's for sure, but I doubt they will bring out the results terrorists want.
