Happy New Year!

Jan 01, 2004 19:40

I hope you all had a nice New Year's eve. I was supposed to update my journal yesterday, but I was not able to get online. The phone company cut off my cable connection for some reason, and I have to use dial-up until things get fixed. By the way, cable guys came home for the third time in the last few days, and this time they caught me off-guard ( Read more... )

Thanks, Lacey! I love you too and wish you a very happy new year. 2003 has been tough. I hope it will be better this year. ;)

Dial-up sucks indeed. Because 1) the phone is busy during the time I am online, 2) the phone company charges so much money for internet connection here, so it sucks.

Btw, of course there is nothing wrong with a sexy, lacy bra. I just wanted to say that I would have been much more embarrassed if it had been one, heh.

Take care!

Selam, Hale! And Happy New Year to you! (What do you say in Turkish? "İyi yıllar" or something?)
I hope 2004 is a year full of health, happiness and blessings for you!

Thomas

PS I've got a cold/flu thing right now too! I feel awful. :( Geçmiş olsun to both of us, I guess!

Selam, Thomas! Thanks for your good wishes. I also wish you a very happy new year! And hopefully, we will both get well soon. Being sick sucks. :(

In Turkish, you can say İyi yıllar or Yeni yılın(ız) kutlu olsun. I guess you can also say Mutlu yıllar.

Btw, your journal looks all Gaelic to me. Fancy writing in English too? :) Hehe.. take care and Happy New Year!

ooh, how do you say "being sick sucks" in Turkish? I need to learn these good colloquial expressions. :)

Yeah, my journal is all Gaelic now. I really need the practice so I don't forget it, so I figured why not? And anyway, there don't seem to be any other Gaelic journals, so I figured it would be cool to publicise the language a little. Of course, this does have the side effect that nobody else can read what I wrote... oh well. :)

Heh, that's true. I read the comments on your posts sometimes, and it helps if someone attempts at translating. :) I understand your reasons for writing in Gaelic though. Unless you practise a language, you are bound to forget it. Unfortunately. :(

For "being sick sucks", I think you can say "Hasta olmak hiç hoş değil" ya da "...çok can sıkıcı (bir durum)". Depending on the context, you can also say "iğrenç/iğrenç bir şey/iğrenç bir durum" for "it sucks". Good question, though. I have never thought of its Turkish equivalent, and these are the only things I can think off the top of my head right now.

Take care and have a nice weekend!

HAPPY NEW YEAR and *HUGS*

I know I'm not on here as much anymore but honestly, it's because I'm role playing at GJ lol. I hope things are better for you this year and (to steal an over used saying)

Thank you, Jenn! That is really sweet. I love it. :)

Yeah, I do miss reading your entries. :( Maybe you can cross-post if it won't be too much of a trouble for you. Dunno. But don't forget about LJ, please and the story of course, hehe.

Take care and Happy New Year! *hugs*
