Once again I find myself making the weary trip to Seattle. 4 hours on a bus with no net connection--a cruel modern form of deprivation. The lack of toilet facilities depresses me less. April and I had dinner with Grandpa tonight. Among the more amusing things he talked about: looting during World War 2 in Italy. ("I had a German Officer's sword in my kit bag. So I spent the last 4 weeks or so building a Beowulf cluster, and now it's almost done. This is probably the most responsibility I have ever had for a project. Went to Bumbershoot today. Plastilina Mosh was fabulous and wacky, The Bad Plus was awesome jazz. (I suggest Raoul should check it out--they cover Aphex Twin, and the drummer is fast and precise enough to pull it off.) Met up with Venus at the PMosh show.
