I hate 'why' questions, especially when I don't have the answers or when the answer is just too complex for me to understand.

A Ventation about Poorly Run Studios
A list of qualities I hate in studios (and possibly an explanation why, depends how much I feel like going into it):- Unkept Promises.
In my opinion, this is among the worst of them. Promises made to your instructors or your higher belts that are unkept or met with excuses will cause your higher belts/instructors lose faith in you, and possibly in ( Read more... ) -

Answers Are Almost Always Simple, But Never Easy.

Insanity.
My boyfriend has once again expressed interest in opening a karate studio. But this time, it's more concise. If he gets a regular route (he's currently a truck driver), he can open a studio when he's not driving. If he doesnt get a regular route, he probably won't.

So, here for the last five years of karate, I've been training up to black belt, with future hopes of opening a karate studio. But recently, I've really stepped back and re-evaluated that dream. Wowie.
Yeah, so tonight was INSANE! We had our biggest adult class yet, with 17 adults. Yeah, so most of them were orange or lower, but I didn't care. Those were the numbers I was used to. I actually relaxed. I felt at home. It was a crowd, but it's karate. We forget everything going on outside. Image doesn't matter cause everyone wears the same uniform ( Read more... ) -
Just a reflection.
So I've been thinking about how crazy karate can be, both with drama and the Art itself. More and more each day, I find that Kenpo is similar to other things in life, whether it be my relationship with Christ, schoolwork, or even something as simple as planning a meal. I'm absolutely, utterly, soundlessly shocked.
I have no answers.
I knew, but it never sank in.
It still hasn't.
The owner is leaving the old studio. He's retiring. And this time, he set a date.
He's leaving the studio to the one who doesn't deserve it - but happens to be the one that can afford it.
