Hypothetical !

I don't know if I ever want children, but for some reason parentless babies have been on my mind.
So I have a query:

If you were capable of having your own children but wanted to adopt, would you adopt before, after, or instead of having your own children? Why?

id probably start the adoption process, but also attempt to get pregant at the same time. the adoption process can take a very long time, and im ready to start a family as soon as im in a position to do so.

I may not have that capability anymore.

If I had a wife and did have that capability, I might want to adopt during the time we had other children so they do not become over responsible (like the eldest tends to do) or under responsible.

Well, I've always wanted to adopt but obviously if I do it will be after my blood related children are born - sense you know, they're already 4 & 6. But even before they were born I had planned on having one or two and then adopting anywhere from 1 to 3 kids. "Plus there are so many starving, neglected and abused kids out there. If I can do my part to help a few children not go through that then I absolutely will."

I'd adopt after having at least one of my own kids, so that I have some idea what I'm doing before I bring a child who may have a troubled background and may also have little in common with me genetically into my care.
