I initially thought it was Cordelia, not Drusilla. XD

Same! Honestly it looks nothing like Drusilla's character

I thought it was Cordelia too! That's a weird choice for Dru; she's losing all of her unsettling Victorian-era spookiness.

I kind of hate the Willow redesign, at least if she's supposed to be high school Willow; I could kind of buy it for 19-20 year old Willow who's come into her power. Visible midriff and fishnet stockings? Why is she being drawn so sexy? Why does she look more trendy than Buffy?

And really even college slightly cooler Willow has a tendency for ‘crazy birthday cake’ shirts and fuzzy Elmo jumpers, she so rarely dressed in dark and subdued clothing anyway if you think about it, let alone sexy and trendy. The only time I can really think of is the Smashed/Wrecked era after she and Tara broke up, we see her in a few cleavagey tops at around that time when she started dabbling with magic more, but it certainly wasn’t typical of her character otherwise

And honestly exact same, I just glanced through the designs and assumed that it was Cordelia, and it wasn’t until I saw other people questioning Drusilla that I went back and looked again and realised that was who it was meant to be

One of the reasons I couldn't get into the comic was that the art just looked so bad and the characters didn't look like the actors. At least these look good? But.

Xander: Nope nope nope. Way too cool.
Willow: S1 Willow would never let her midriff show it was an actual plot point arrgh.
Buffy: Yes, good.
Spike: Great, looks exactly like him.
Anya: Oh, I don't hate this.
Drusilla: I hate this.
Giles: A little too stacked but given my massive crush on him, I'm okay with it.

I was the same with the original comics, the cover art looked so gorgeous and professional as well, so the art inside was a big disappointment

And it is definitely a little puzzling how cool Xander and Willow are being made to look, it was such a big character point that they were nerdy characters who got teased for not knowing how to dress themselves/being dressed by their mothers.

Late 90's fashions are coming back anyway - they could stick with the original costume conceptions & still seem contemporary!

I wish they had lol, no need to change everything quite so drastically

I'm not sure how I feel about these designs either.

Yeah they do objectively look good, I just wish I could recognise the original characters in them a little more
