Hmmmmm. Yeah, I'm trying to withhold judgement but I'm not thrilled about Willow being reimagined in these "sexy" high school fashions.
The concept of a kind of AU Drusilla taking over the role of The Master could be interesting? But it's also already putting me off by the very fact that "The Mistress" Drusilla apparently still has to be hot, cuz she's a girl. I remember what The Master looked like, man.
Ooh okay, I somehow completely missed that The Mistress was a play on it being a similar villain role to The Master *g* But yeah that is pretty lame that they had to make her look sexy and glamorous for a role which should be more about looking animalistic and old world if anything, the Drusilla concept is just not working for me at all frankly, it doesn’t even look vaguely like her
I think the concentrated too much on Willow being a witch to dress her for this new version. She's got a gothic urban, cool vibe going and this is totally not the nerdy, unfashioned, and not confident Willow we got to know and love.
That's Dru? Geez, I thought it was Cordy. And even then I wasn't sure at all because of the way she was dressed.
And Buffy is more tomboyish? Totally not the Buffy we got to know either. I mean... wow!
That's basically all I have to say as I don't mind Xander and Spike looks totally similar. Funny that they got one picture of Anya and she looks exactly the same. To me anyway...
It does look like they’re going to make Willow a witch earlier in this version, and that could be interesting, but even as a witch Willow never really dressed that sexy or cool I don’t think. Even in season 4 when she first became more confident and was finding herself in college, she was still wearing awful bucket hats sometimes and ‘crazy birthday cake’ shirts y’know? And then I think she had a bit of a hippy vibe going on with the long floaty skirts while she was dating Tara, they used to dress pretty similar at times, but Willow was certainly never walking around in fishnets and cut-off tops at any point

There was a definite change in Willow's clothing, though gradual, as she met and started hanging and then dating Tara for sure. She became more confident in who she was and in her magics and everything as well but she would never had gone that route of fishnets and belly showing tops. She's yellow crayon and barbies and library and computer Willow. She's a nerd and nerds don't dress this way.
And Xander's more lazy, clownish, roller skating nerd. The second outfit depicted is too cool because of the jacket he's wearing.
I consider myself tomboy-ish in the sense that I rarely wear dresses and skirts but I still do. Buffy tended to dress a lot girly so dresses and skirts and high heels and flimsy tops. And cute hairdo's a tomboy doesn't waste time on. Usually pants reserved for slaying, depending on the occasion, kinda/sorta.
I agree that Willow’s clothing definitely matured over the years, even in seasons 3 I thought that she was dressing a lot nicer than the general overalls look from season 2, but yeah she never really went for the dark goth look unless she was either Dark!Willow or Vamp!Willow. She was very much the character who loved rainbow colours, brightly coloured tights, fluffy jumpers, and t-shirts with some ridiculous designs on them

We'll have to wait and see, I guess.
