Nelson and Murdock forever!

I've just finished watching the first season of Daredevil...and I'm so hooked, it's gonna be very long to wait for the second season in 2016...It's probably my favourite new tv show.

Steven Deknight and Drew Goddard made a great show, and since Doug Petrie wrote most of the episodes, it's like having a Buffy tv reunion ( Read more... )

We haven't gotten all the way through it yet, but we're loving Daredevil as well. Once I get done watching it with Tyson, I'll probably watch it again, only in a shorter span of time, as there's so much going on. ITA on Matt and Foggy, and I'm liking Karen and Rosario Dawson's character as well.

Unlike you, I adore SHIELD, but would agree that Daredevil is its superior in a lot of ways. I watch SHIELD because it's fun, but Daredevil is just amazing.

But then, I'm a Marvel girl and have loved comics and graphic novels and all things superhero for years.

I hope my post didn't spoil you!

Apparently Deknight was more iunspired by The Wire than by superhero shows.

I really like the opening titles, and Foggy and the atrociously evil Fisk too. I think Charlie Cox is very good in this and I agree he is not particularly handsome. I started to get fascinated by his strange hairline towards the end. I do think the whole slightly shabby tone of the series is very good.

2016 - it's a long wait.

Were you shocked by Wesley's demise? He's going to remain such a mysterious character while he was such a presence in the early episodes to the point that I began to question whether his "employer" really existed. Fisk is basically a beast, while Wesley was so cool.

That said, his death definitely adds layers and depth to Karen's character and journey.

I was shocked and at one point wondered if during the scene where Fisk was talking to him he would start breathing again - but I think that would have been too 'Hollywood'. I think it is interesting who was plotting against Fisk and thought it could have been Wesley - so it's a shame the character has gone.

at one point wondered if during the scene where Fisk was talking to him he would start breathing again. So did I!

But you're right, it would have been too "Hollywood". I like that Wesley actually underestimated Karen so much and he died so quickly, in such an absurd manner, especialy given the disdain he obviously felt for "people" like her.

But I will miss the character. It was so fascinating that he was actually loyal to Fisk while perfectly seeing what he was and being so different, not sharing his love for the city for instance. We so need a backstory about Wesley and Fisk!

I think I'll get to Daredevil next, as EVERYONE seems really hyped about it. I can't believe I watched all 12 eps of Empire over the last 3 days - terrible writing, often terrible acting, and yet I couldn't put it down.

I guess that sometimes binge watching is more about the binge than about the quality of what one watches.

Oh, definitely. It might be easier in a way to binge-watch something mediocre or bad, if it's sort of good-bad.

I keep meaning to start it, and then I watch an hour of something else and turn off the TV. The weather is too nice in the evenings the last few days to come in off the balcony.
