i think you should do it! 150k is not bad for buying space. get a loan and get some old coworkers to help you get it started. i can picture you doing what this place does: http://www.mollymoonicecream.com/

just do what you do, but make it AMA-ZING and people will buy it! i went to Molly Moon's in Seattle and the line was down the block. i had their honey lavender ice cream and it was the best i ever had!
ps, we had gone there in late December and it was freezing cold in Seattle but people lined up for it!

That is sort of along the lines of what I want to do. People line of for Ted Drewes here, and it doesn't matter what time of year. They are selling trees now, but I'm pretty sure you can still get frozen custard. Move to St Louis, and we will go into biz together! We could partition the kitchen and you could bake till your heart's content, and I can make all the ice cream I want, and everybody can be happy!

I know this place. They are currently closed for the season and I was so disappointed, even though I probably can't eat there safely. I go by there every single day on the way home from work. It's like 3 blocks from my house.

It's a really neat little shop, but it's changed hands probably 3 times in the last 5 years.

You should get a business plan together this winter, get a loan, and look to open it this spring. Seriously. I'd eat there all the time if you did, especially if you offered GF cones!! :D
