Filler Friday - Oh, hell, now what?

Jun 12, 2009 08:20

Good morning, hostiles. On Wednesday night, I made and ruined one of the recipes scheduled to appear today, much as it says on the comic.

A french toast bake / bread pudding of sort. Only something went horribly, horribly wrong.

You know, funny thing... I've never particularly identified with Collin as a character (though I love him dearly) but all the items on his List of Irksome Things appear on mine as well! Except "Bruce Willis movies" (because I loved The Fifth Element) and "being considered short for a guy" (because I am actually a girl, and am considered rather tall for a girl.)

And I tend to think Bill Bryson is overrated. I read the first few chapters of Notes From a Small Island, and enjoyed it... then I read several more chapters, and it was the same exact thing over and over, and I was quickly bored. And I've heard that Mother Tongue is terribly, terribly inaccurate.

I heart The Fifth Element. And probably a few others I can't think of offhand.

I agree with you. I've only ever read the one book, but I found him to be just okay. Still, I think Anne would find his writing style kind of soothing.

Cool hair. I mean Sandra's hair, not Collins.

Yay for Squidbillies and South Park! Boo for Wuthering Heights. I cringe every time I hear that title. Why Anne? Why?

It's much less cool in real life, except on good days. Like today, but that's only because I have a presentation this afternoon so I'm making the extra effort.

Your guess is as good as mine. :D

Okay, this is going to sound like the craziest question, but let's roll with it~

Do the comic characters ...h-hang around and talk to you? At all? Sort of independent, like.

...this question immediately made my think of my best friend, because the characters from her writing do. Constantly. 24-7. She is plagued by their presence, chatter, and comments as she goes through her daily life. For the most part, she loves it because she loves them. Sometimes, she says, it can be insanely distracting because they don't stop.

Me too, it's why I ask. :) I think it's more common than people realise. :)

They quite do for me, too. They especially do the chattering thing.

Not to sound crazy, but I once only caught one threatening another with "Don't make me go fabulous on your ass!"

I'm not surprised Fox like Squidbillies. He seems like he'd be a fan of Adult Swim shows.

I agree with pretty much everything on Collin's pet-peeve list, except for sea monkeys. What did sea monkeys ever do to Collin?
