Last Friday I went hiking in Tilden Park since I scheduled no Friday classes (shh, don't tell my dean I wasn't at work!) and remembered to bring a container for blackberries.

Boston Museum of Fine Arts ticket
I just got back from visiting brother's family in Rhode Island and we went to Boston on several trips and I bought a Boston city pass booklet and got my money's worth on the tickets used, but have a few left over. The booklet of tickets is transferrable as far as I can tell. Anyone want a ticket to the Museum of Fine Arts? I am more than happy ( Read more... ) -
Huayna Picchu
Yesterday I climbed the very steep mountain next to the Machu Picchu ruins, in spite of my fear of heights. There were stone steps in most places, sheer edges to one side, and no hand rail. In a few places there was wire bolted to the granite, and usually stone to hold onto ( Read more... ) -

We went to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibit at the Legion and I keep forgetting to write that I think the point of it was that she'll photograph anyone. Celebrity portraiture is uninteresting to me, but there is a certain appeal of transparency from the artist being undiscerning.
