Yep. He's not a podiatrist, and is careful to let you know that, but he has seen a heck of a lot of feet and has all the tech to make the right insole for the right foot.
Glad you got it sorted....thankfully my one case of PF has never resurfaced but I'm scrupulous about foot health - but of course being a Diabetic who is still able to, and does walk a lot and so far has managed to keep perfectly healthy feet, legs and circulation for 8+ years of Diabetes due to the walking - I'm always paranoid....yes, we do get free NHS treatment for which I'm very grateful ..strangely enough the most comfortable pair of walking boots I have atm come from a small outdoors shop in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, I have two pairs atm and plan to stick with them until I'm forced to find another outlet...
The insole he made for me is based on diabetes friendly material designed to cushion delicate feet. Then he added the bits to correct my over pronation and extra padding to protect my poor abused bones. They are indecently comfortable. The boots have also been stretched to compensate for my wide, awkward feet but are narrow at the heel so I don't slonk about in them
