now that 2008 has passed, i feel forced to reflect on what it meant and how i should view 2009.  i seem to care a lot less about the meaning of it all this year than in past years though.  if nothing else, new years offers a chance to self evaluate.  so rather than just not care, i might as well try for the hell of it
