i felt like just adressing this

"knowledge is not necessarily power"

no knowledge is always power, but knowledge doesn't do any good for making friends. Most leaders in the world are very private people who hardly have any social life. sure they have a lot of knowledge (at least the legitimate ones that i would consider leaders) but that doesn't mean they're as happy as they want.

so maybe "knowledge is never a good substitute for happiness."

also, about your job, if it hurts you to work there, then quit. No matter how detrimental it will be to the other people working there, you live in america, and you are not forced to work somewhere when it causes you unnecessary stress to work there. maybe it's selfish, but you need to be selfish sometimes to help your own situation.

i know i used a bad phrase. i guess i didn't so much expect the knowledge to be powerful as i was trying to make it known to others that striving for knowledge isn't always the right thing. :) but you got me a better quote, so things are fixed. thank you. and about my job...it's not so much the job as the lack of people. and...they're hiring people. so i'm waiting it out to see if these people are cool and good at pastry. if not, i'm out. hahaha the worst part about being me is that i'm terribly indecisive. one hour i'm quitting, the next, i love it. the stress is all internal and completely unrelated to the job. it's just me being me.
