no, it's the other way around. it's because he's a quasi-famous person married to an a-list celebrity that he constantly feels inferior and thinks he needs to validate himself by becoming a walking billboard for his own show while praying he gets recognized in public.

especially since his image is that of being some macho tough dude, and it's the lady in the relationship that's the primary bread-winner. i went to highschool with that guy. he's every dork that ever took weight-training and auto and called me a fag for wearing tight pants while blaring disturbed in their headphones.
