Jim goes straight to the shower without a word, but doesn't take long. He's got a towel around his waist, another rubbing at the back of his head as he crosses the bedroom. He doesn't say anything, just waiting, knowing Leonard will tear into him when he's good and ready.

If Jim wants to talk Jim can talk to him but Leonard is tired of trying to talk to Jim about how he is feeling about this. Jim has never listened to him on anything else why would he listen to him now.

Jim laughs and explains the situation to a bewildered Eleanor. By the time he's finished, she's grinning through tears. "I'm so happy for you!"

After the phone conversation leonard is happily sitting on the couch reading some non work related material on his PADD, a content grin on his face.

He knows Bones isn't going to let it go and so they'll talk about it and compromise just like they did before. He knows it scares Bones, but Jim kind of chalks it up to a win. Bones and Jocelyn divorced because they fought all the time, and so do Jim and Leonard but the difference is that they've learned how to be mature about it. And on all but a few things (like Leonard's late shifts and Jim's recklessness), they always manage to come together in a compromise that makes them both happy.

He stops and sighs, moving to the edge of the bed, reaching up to turn Bones to face him. "Okay. I'm sorry. I'm a brat. My opinion is not the only one that matters. I still don't want you to do the surgery. But. I want us to talk about it. Like reasonable, civil adults. Like we did before, remember? Don't you remember how much easier and quicker we got to a solution when we talked instead of bullshitting around and fighting and dodging? So. Let's start over ( ... )
