Random drivers shouting
Is this a regular thing? I had two random people apparently shouting at me from their cars while driving past me on the sidewalk last night. The joys of hardware
Well, I discovered months later that the instability in that PC was due to the RAM requiring an odd non-standard voltage, which the motherboard fails to detect. The system builder never mentioned this and never configured it properly ( Read more... ) -
PCI Narity Edror
My home PC just halted with the message "PCI Narity Edror. Press F1 to Continue or F2 to Reboot". Of course, the keyboard does not respond, so I had to cycle the power. One of the most useless phrases ever
I wish everyone would cease using the phase "one of the..." improperly, as in "blue is one of the most popular colors in the world." Or the absolutely dreadful "Skydiving is one of the only things I always wanted to try."

This conversation helped me a great deal with putting my thoughts and feelings on healthcare into perspective, so I thought I'd repost it to my blog for my reference. In hindsight, the venom in some of my words was mostly due to an irrational anger at a problem over which I have no control. That's also good to understand.
