I'm not even going to think about what I'm typing... I have an obligation to make an entry every once in a while in order to remind everyone that I'm still out there, and not rotting away in some building choked with toxic concentrations of crack fumes. There really is no telling how my job search is going to go, I mean, I carpet bombed the area ( Read more... )

I've written about a half-dozen responses in this box and deleted all of them. The last one was a long essay on how much life sucks that I got so involved with bitching about life that I lost sight of my point. Life is like that. It has it's ups and it's downs but it's not until you start thinking about the bad stuff that it all comes falling down around you. You gotta keep a clear head and keep pushing through until you find yourself on the other side. Of course, because we're mostly blind you won't notice that your on the other side until you stop and look back at how you got there. It's not positive thinking that gets there, it's just not being negative about it. As I've started telling everyone lately, "It's not the destination, it's the trip." Where we end up will never live up to what we had to do to get there. That's why that part in the middle is so important. That's why things always work out when you don't plan too far ahead. Don't bother choosing a final destination, just worry about getting there. You can sort the rest out

From my rather limited perspective, not being negative is definitely being positive.

I prefer not to think too much about the concept of "there", but try to take a certain kind of whimsical humor in most of my travels... Certainly better than my old, brooding method, which never really made anything easier for me or anyone else around me.

Yeah, it was rather strangely worded. Glad you took such an interest.

Just curious, what has you all bothered about how much life sucks? Be careful, that kind of thinking, if it becomes more of a circular kind of pattern forming reflex, can have disastrous results... You might want to take my word on that.
