you brought up an interesting point that I hadn't thought of. If hearing impaired/deaf people can manage to do cross the street without getting run over then why can't ppl who are listening to music do the same? Though, I guess it would ... well deaf ppl can't hear therefore they aren't distracted. *shaking head*

However the one person does make a very good point. People are in more likely to be killed by cars than crossing the streets, and better still, more people die each year from smoking than from vehicular means.
No ones is banning smoking...
I'm not calling the kettle black either, because I quit smoking, so HAH!

Frankly, there are probably more ipods in New York City, than cars. Noone is suggesting that they ban cars.
