I've been in Iraq at Camp Diamondback for four days. Every day there have been multiple mortor attacks and one IED (improvised explosive device). I saw a herd of Camels. A herd of Camels! How often in my lifetime will I say "I saw a heard of Camels today"? I'm in Kuwait and it's hot and sandy. The horizon is permanently tan colored. It's not like hot, dry desert sand, it's like hot, humid, sand-dune sand. Big difference. We will be in Kuwait one week and then on to our home in Iraq. ( Read more... )

I leave tomarrow for Kuwait and then to Iraq. Wow. This process takes forever. I've been at Fort Lewis for nearly two months. I don't have all that much to say. I am still a little overwhelmed. The real journaling starts now I guess.
