I tend to see religions as prescriptions for spiritual memory loss. Perhaps I don't need one because I can remember just fine on my own. yknow i was going to edit that after i posted it (but we can't with comments?) knew that wasn't the right word. and i agree its memory. kinda liek that ouspensky/gurjeuieffe(?)4thWay stuff: "self-Remembering" they're always talking about when one sefl-remebers and leaves the sleepwalking/waking state behind..
