uughh i'm really incredibly sick of reading this bullshit about fairwood...but i suppose i'll share my views since your entry actually hit a topic that i have a point of view on.
i'm in college. i don't live in berea anymore. i went to fairwood, and i loved it. but honestly...i was barely even disappointed when i heard. things change, we've all grown up and i hardly ever think about that school anymore. it's not like i'm going to send my children there, and it's not like i'm ever going to go back just to see my tiny red handprint on the wall.
I completely agree with what you said, Josh. Amen Brother! Sentimental value doesn't count. Seriously, why would they close a school that is only 45 years young over one that is nearly 60 years old and more expensive to run.
Sorry to all, Fairwood supports, but I hope the district sticks with its plans. And if your parents are going to vote against the levy and it does fail. Your parents have no room to bitch when a certain thing is cut. Seriously, your parents care more about a school than your education. Going to a different school is not going to change how the education in Berea is.
First off I just needed to throw out a statement about bussing that you were mistaken on Josh, around 90% of the kids who go to Fairwood actually walk. Just thought I'd say that.
And I completely agree with everyone...sentimental value can truely not be considered when deciding if a school stays open. Every single school has just as much sentimental value and there's no way to judge which has more or every school would need to be kept open.
