so it seems everyone is whining about this council or that council. so here's my rant.

first off, fuck you, don't you fucking whine. you didn't fucking run, your fucking fault.

now, secondly, i do have some complaints, and considering i ran last year, i can whine. go me.

the fact that you couldn't be fucked to put up posters means that you don't want it as much as the people who did. of course, i'd still vote for you, but it might be due to a lack of strong competition.

i think that the best speech/posters had to be ben murray.

i dont wanna say that council elections was purely popularity-- because that would be conceited of me.. but i dont wanna say it was all about hard work and dedication, because with hindsight, it may have been for show, for college and what not...

i've spoken with kids here in arizona, they've done actual and substantial work for their school....

but council was definitely for fun too... it was a highlight

people have been whining about their councils, particularly next year's junior council. i don't really care, but i do have something to say about it.

well i said that issba isn't popularity. and, yeah, i hope the kids that did win want to help their school, not just put it on a college app.

we actually had more than 2 people running for each of the other positions... actually, every position except for techie. (fran and cj) but i guess they thought running against min ji gave them a better chance of winning. sucks for her lol.

And I got in. =) I've been trying for the last two years haha. My posters were lame, but funny and people remembered them.

I agree though. I hate how people complain, "Oh, student council doesn't do jack shit, they do nothing all year, blah blah what's the point?" 1) The councils do a hell of a lot around school, if people just pulled their heads out of their asses and paid attention for a second, and 2) if they think that the current council is doing such a bad job, then why the fuck don't they run for the positions themselves and make some change?

It fucking pisses me off. This kinda puts me into the mood for my own rant post. I may just combine my rant of MUN & CC apparantly not being "real" IASAS events in with it.. That one really leaves me incensed. x_x

and congrats on council, i didn't make it last year, but then the person that beat me had like 3 years council experience and was nicely popular.

but i had better posters...well i dunno. hers were damn good. but they did a block of five people for each council position, while i ran on my own :(
