i just saw a really uplifting episode of "the office". makes me feel warm inside - even though my heater isn't fixed (yet).

it's done. i finished the last "harry potter" book. i feel... satisfied. though it is sad that there's no more to read. i honestly wish there could have been some "spin-off" book series - the kind you get from your average fantasy/sci-fi books. but, alas, in her efforts to make the perfect classic jk rowling used the number seven so succinctly ( Read more... )

i've been saying it since last monday. it seems my allergies have been acting up to the point where i've had headaches/migraines all week. feeling much better today after some decent rest.

i'm almost through reading "harry potter 4: the goblet of fire". i don't know whether to be ashamed or excited at how much i find myself wrapped up in this series. as harry was being attacked by voldemort, i found myself almost crying in excitement! i need to read the whole series before one of my students tells me the ending of the seventh book ( Read more... )

last night, aj and i beat halo 2 randomly. i say randomly because i didn't realize it was over right away. i have never been so disappointed with an end-game as i was here for two reasons:

1. no end boss? are you serious?
2. no eff-ing achievements! (pre-360 games bother me)

but it was good while it lasted, i suppose.

school is just around the corner of the calendar, literally. tomorrow i begin my two in-service days at hopewell. then the kids are back in the building. i've been reflecting recently on what i've learned over the last year and how i'm more prepared. i think i should be able to handle certain inevitable circumstances a lot better than last year ( Read more... )
