Getting ready to go to school!
Addie starts school on Thursday and I start next Wednesday. I'm feeling a little bitter-sweet about summer ending but am kind of excited about all the newness coming to our lives. Addie is really excited about his new school. Everyone we have met has been really nice.
Addie says, "I am really excited about school because my teacher is a Red Sox -
Back in the Computer Lab
I think I should stuff a sleeping bag under one of the desks and just live here. Addie said he thought it would be fun. We could eat out of the vending machine in the hall, drink from the water fountain and then shower in the gym. It would certainly be cheaper! -
How long has it been?
I don't remember when I lasted posted. It's been a while. Life has changed a bit, I'm sure. Looking back over past entries I ponder when I started this journal. I was in Connecticut, facing the fact that my life was not what I had hoped it would be, writing up a storm, working my butt off, and wondering when all the balls I was juggling would ( Read more... ) -
Pondering while laundering
Visited my brother's grave today and found the stone to be all but unreadable due to the amount of lichen and moss that has built up on it. (Not to mention bird droppings.) Now, I know it's early June and it has been a really rainy spring, but ya know- I'm not the FIRST in my family to have visited this cemetery (I know this due to word of mouth ( Read more... ) -
Three day weekend
I love Memorial day! And yes, for the obvious reason- we get three days off from work. When I was a kid I marched in parades every year. At first it was for 4-H, then band, then as a majorette and finally with Church Youth Group. I don't think I actually SAW a memorial day parade until after I had graduated high school. It's Hot Out
Nothing like being painfully obvious! But it is. Hot out, I mean. I don't suffer much because I work in a "refrigerator" but when I leave I'm kind of cold. Well, I don't work in a literal refrigerator...it's just as cold as one. It seems odd sometimes to look out my office window and see people in shorts and tees while I'm huddled at my desk ( Read more... ) -

Friday! At LAST!
I guess it's the thought that I have 2 days and 2 nights that belong to me that make Friday's so great. I never sleep in, but I COULD. I don't sit up all night BUT I COULD.
