~~~ dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori
Watched the film of Regeneration last night... It was good, but the whole Owen/Sassoon thing was much more implied than in the book... Still, it was interesting to watch, given that it was Remembrance Day last Friday. They read this poem at the end of it, though, and I actually can't read it without beginning to cry, which I guess is kinda soft ( Read more... )
Thank you ^^ Ah, but that was a fluke... >.<
I hate having a fan club. Besides, they're really aggressive. I think they might attack me or something...
Claire married this lawyer guy she only meets in Series 5, and she must have been about 40 or something... Claire and Billy split up in series 5. Keith got shot T^T and died about 20 years before David did, that was sad... I think you've just finished series 4, so you've got the 13 episodes of season 5 to go ^^
No, she definitely asked about No Man's Land too. You were obviously out of it at the time XD although not knowing what the Albert Hall was was a bit =_=;; as well...
No excuse for ignorance ^^ That's like me saying I don't know about Pearl Harbour or something because I've never lived in America. It's one of those things you should just know.
Are you talking about the space between opposing trenches in trench warfare, a lesbian bar, or a specific place? In either case the answer is no for almost anyone under 30 not in the military. American History classes generally get about to the Civil War then gloss over the last 140 years touching a lot on WW 1 and 2 and only breifly menioning Vietnam as an afterthought. Most of what exposed me to the concept was watching old war movies with my grandparents and asking questions. It's part of why I'm considering homeschooling my kids. I want them to get a real education instead of being herded and babysat all day.
a lesbian bar
HAHA!! No, I meant the space between trenches. Usually to refer to WWI though, the area between the French/British and German troops, but it technically is the area between any set of opposing trenches.
In either case the answer is no for almost anyone under 30 not in the military.
OMG -falls over dead- That is SO scary. I think I'm right in saying pretty much everyone in Britain over the age of 14 will know what No Man's Land is. That is just... Rather frightening, actually... ::winces::
